How about churches...

Yup, some of my brethren from two loclas asked me to design a church building for them, and so I did. I just wanted to ask your opinions on this since I'm a newbie in VIZ4 and before I show it to my clients. I did all the 3D stuff in ACAD2000 then rendered everything in VIZ4. Go easy on me, k? :)

hmmm...well, I am going to assume that you are asking for a critique on the renderings, not the design?

The first image:

1. Blend the bg with the rendering - add more of a foreground and ground plane. The perspective doen't fit as is. I'd try to build it up from the front back.

2. The light looks a little flat. Try working with the contrast to give some depth.

Second Image:

1. Same issues, pretty much

2. The trees look out of place, if you have some photos you could PShop in, it'd work better

3. The UV coords of the grass at the front are off. I'd just lower the whole hunk of ground.

Try adding some reflections to the glass, too. that would help.

Keep posting as you work on this, you'll get some great tips here. Good luck.

First of all, it's good to see someone from the Phil. here. Kumusta......

Try putting something around the church, like a parking lot for example, put some cars so that the building wont look so isolated. Instead of having the grass pup up from the ground, enclose it with a planter box. I agree that the trees do look kinda out of place. I hope that this helps, I was once a bigginer to, heck I still consider myself a begginer when I see some of the awsome stuff poster here. ;)

Thanks for your suggestions there Onslaught. I sure agree with you in making my building not to seem so isolated. I forgot that this is CGArchitects, I shouldn't be posting working perspectives here. [scratches head]

Well, okay pa rin naman ang buhay-buhay dito. I hope ayos ka naman d'yan. You'll be surprised that there are a lot of Filipinos in here and most of them are great posters. :angerazz:

It's ok to post working perspectives here. At least you get expert comments on it. At least makikita mo kung saan ka mahina para ma-improve mo yung skills mo. I know theres a lot of kababayan here, but when I'm on line there asleep and when there on-line I'm asleep, you know, time difference.

there are a lot of filipinos here, right. i am one. :)

regarding your image, i think you should concentrate a little more on the composition of the image.. and when your satisfied with that, work on the details, like camera angles, uvw mapping and materials, lighting. in my case, i find i easier to first sketch how i want the image to look like (camera angle-wise) then i decide on the mood i want to create for my image. then see what details are appropriate for that angle and mood(entourage - plants, vehicles) and their proper siting.

i think proper planning before actual modeling could save you a lot of time and headaches. and it could result in a visually more coherent image.

good luck. we would love to see more updates. :)

Hi Alex, you might not know this but me and my freind really like your work. I've been meaning to ask you for some advice on radiosity. I have a post here called "REGISTRAR", it's in the finished worked section and if you could put some input on it I would really appreciate it. :)
