warprat
Hello all, I've been thinking alot about rendering lately, and how to speed things up....... My machine is no monster a mere 2.4 pentium 4, 1 gig of ram and a Ati radeon 9250. a bit out of date hehehe. my office has just about the same config, but with a Ati radeon 1300. But my reenderings still take ages, I use lightwave with Fprime. When I'm doing modelling texturing and stuff Everything runs smooth. But rendering Does Everybody wait A whole night before they can get A decent render. So now I realize that my machine is just good for working on but its not a very good render. Is it the processor? What kind of setup do I need For fast render times. Thanks in advance.
manta
Get a quad core2 machine...that's 4 cpu's in one...that'll speed things up, and its not that expensive either.

CookiE
Rendering is almost completly cpu and ram as far as i have been told the graphics card is mainly used to work with doesnt get used much with rendering Or if you have more than one pc you can split render which means each computer does a bit and at the end it gets put together into one image
