Jefferson Grigsby
Does anyone understand why Max9 forces force two sided into the viewports? I really prefer not to work with force two sided enabled in the viewports because I always know whhich way my normals are facing and can easily tell if a piece of geometry needs faces flipped after an import. No matter whcih driver, direct 3D or Open GL, I am always seeing force two sided in the viewports. This is very annoying. Has anyone else figured out how to get around this, or am I the only one experiencing this? I am using a quadro 3500 xp 64 max 9 for 64 the latest microsoft certified D3D drives, or even open GL for that matter. Thanks in advance Jefferson Grigsby
sterealkey
No you're not alone. I also have that problem. It shows a black face, whereas in previous versions it would go see-through. This is irritating, can anyone help us?
Koper
ok, could not actively get the backface to turn on and off, so here is how i did it by creating a shortcut key! Customize > Customize User interface (window open) you have 5 tabs, the first one called 'Keyboard' scrol down with the scroll bar until you get to 'Backface Cull Toggle' action and select it. to the left you see a hot key input box, select it, now when you press on keys on your keyboard you will assign those keys to the selected action, so be carefull not to assign keys that are already assigned to some other action. I assigned 'Alt+Shift+Ctrl+Space' as it weren't assigned to any other action
Koper
oh, sorry, then you have to press it twice in order to work, as it actively turns it on and the off
