Elliot
In the old days of LS if we a lot of jagged ends we just had to make the wire mesh smaller and they will go away. I am using MentalRay and I get all these jagged ends. I have tried with no luck. I need some suggestions on how to get rid of them. Thanks Elliot
Fran
Hi Elliot, I think it's a supersampling issue. I'm not well-versed in mental ray, but you may need to adjust your shadow parameters. With scanline radiosity, I would enable supersampling for the texture that is receiving the shadow. Are you using the mental ray shadow parameters? Elliot
Fran Hello,,, how are you and your family doing...? We are doing OK. My daughter turn 9 years old yesterday... big event... she thinks she is getting too old and too fast.... I don't know what I am doing with the rendering. I used the default values that come with VIZ. I will play with this thing as soon as I get back. I am sure you just pointed me to the right direction. This is for a project due next wednesday and I am going supersonic and now this last minute issue. I just wanted to respond to you and say thanks. I am going to the store right now to talk with Santa Claus.... my wife has given to me a big list of issues to talk with him about.... When I get back I will try your suggestions. Perhaps I should use the VRay free I have which is still working.... Happy Holidays Elliot
Bugga_Guy
Looks like a shadow bitmap problem to me. In your shadow parameters, increase the size (default 512) to 1000, or you can also increase the sample range giving the shadow a fuzz feel.
