NPR Libray

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I've been working with PS and npr techniques quite a bit lately. The rendering is of a library design, viz photometric lighting full radiosity and heavy npr in PS. Trying for a heavy hand sketched feel.

Library NPR Rendering

PS- Heavy Strokes, Pencil, Inverted Glowing Edges, Find edges, gradient underpainting & dodging, burning, overlay, multiply, tweeking.

It's far from the original image

What do you think, a good medevil book and a gobblet of grog?

:angedead: Kentucky Whiskey :angedead: for me please!

IMHO, npr should not be some sort of escape goat technique to hide the details of what is supposed to be presented, or to cover up for the loss of detail.

Art is art in architecture as long as the details arent deprived of eye attention. Otherwise, its better categorized as an abstraction.

Just like as what is seen in better traditional architectural NPR illustrations, the lines and points and hatching does not destroy nor hide the details while the main sketch lines only accentuate the totality of the form.

The details of the photoreal rendering were lost on the npr.
