kingeldar
i've tried some modelled grass (to see visual effect and rendrerng time) and onyx tree (sema reason visual and time) please give me some feedback how does it look? (can't judge my work when it's still hot.. i need at least 3-4 days before emitting an objective judgement.... what a waste of time..)
Tim Nelson
i think it would be better if you used higher antialiasing settings. some of the colors look over saturated too - needs to be more natural looking
kingeldar
was out of ram because of the grass and tree (only 1.5 Gb) so had to reduce antialiasing to be able to get a render... i'm not very experienced so i try everything to find cpu limits.... i found some today....lol colors saturated? yes don't know why usefuly i can have good control on render but in this scene i must have fotgot a parameter so on each render colors were over over saturated (that image was photoshoped was worst before...) i don't really master what i'm getting for now.... thx 4 answer
graphix
Kingaldar, The tree is looking good! However the shadow it is casting has green leaves. The grass looks good but it looks like it is layed down in humped rows. The patio needs some work on the texture and bumping, the grout is obviously at the same level as the tiles and should dip down a little. The anti does need to be cranked up some. I am not sure why 1.5gb of ram isnt enough to render that scene, I use 1gb of ram in one workstation and have much more complex setups. graphix
JHalton
I think you are at a 'too early' stage to pass judgement. But I think this is going to end up rather nice in the end.

Tony
I think the lighting is to flat. There is no real contrast in the image. The chrome on the chair would have highlights or reflections of the sunlight. The grass looks strange were it meets the patio and it appears to be very uneven, almost like rows in a cornfield. The shadows from the tree on the wall appear to be green? From the distance that the tree is from the wall, that could not happen. The main problem is the AA, it's way to low and makes it difficult to see the image correctly and give proper comments on the quality of the image. You also need to correct the perspective. The walls are really leaning in. Hopefully, this will help you see the image as a whole. Right now it looks like individual pieces just stuck together. I'm not trying to be mean, just helpful. Keep at it! Tony
gus_webb
kingeldar, you're using viz, right? logarithmic exposure control? if so, you might consider lowering the mid tones value in the "environment" controls...i think the default with logarithmic is 1.0, and personally i've found that if i drop it to around .3 or .2 i get a little more shadow depth. then you can adjust the brightness and contrast to get something you like. if you're not using exposure control, pay no attention to me. what the heck do i know. something to play with, anway. kingeldar
Tony so hard but all u say seems true i needed to get shaked a little u did!!! thx gus_webb ur right i use radiosity (in max 4 that one) i usaully get good results with midtones to 1 or sometimes even upper but i guess u r right that is why that image looks so strange.... indeed all ur critics are welcome cause it helps me to keep hummble cause the people i sell the rendering are always amazed with the mouh full of nice and good words so i get blind to my work (whorst with my frineds who can not even model a wall so a single ugly 3d is fantastic ) thx
