innerdream
Hi everyone. I work in the Architecture field and have been learning 3D Studio. Here is my first interior to have a look at. I would like to add some fabric drapes to the windows and I'm open to all constructive feedback. Cheers!
ipxstudios
take out all the lights - make the windows transparent and start with the sunlight system. It will give you realistic shadows and GI within the space. Then you can start playing with the textures, materials, etc. in the space.
cakewalkr7
Question - why is the counter showing through the guy?
ChooChoo
looks like you may have some transparency on the left of the image.....the person, the cabinets.

The cabinet is reflecting the wall I think and the guy is transparent on purpose. I wanted a night scene so I don't want a daylight light source. If the cabinet is transparent how do I fix that? I have to check it but I'm pretty sure it's just reflections?

Did you do all of your interiors with an external sun light and then lo intensity spots etc.? They look really nice.
dietrichdeblander
I prefer to not use the scanline renderer, use the vray plugin:p
hockley91
Well, I don't know if your two days are over, but as far as drapes go you could either model them as nurbs, or you could download them from a website. Accustudio.com has some good models to get from.
innerdream
Thanks Adam. What is everyone using and how to get an outside light through a window into a interior that is lit already with Omnis and spots? I tried a daylight system but failed at that? It turned off all my interior lights and washed out the room. Any tips or tutorials.
