Jorbu
Check it out: http://www.sketchup.com/ It's a FREE upgrade to current Pro 5 version users.
Ernest Burden III
FREE is good. Notice how the 'Google' is really, really big, while the 'Sketchup' is really, really small? Thanks for the point-out!

Jorbu
I think it's amazing that it's FREE, but it's Google after all.... We're upgrading 80 licenses.
1eo
any new features?
AJLynn
Yeah. Interfaces to Google 3D Warehouse and Google Earth, a lot more options for stylizing graphics, and some other things. I haven't used it much yet but it seems good.
Ernest Burden III
They have added or enhanced tools to match models into perspective photos and to model from photos. I bought a great plugin for Cinema that will probably out-do SUs version, but if its in the 'pretty good' catagory, at the price of SU you can't go wrong. There is always PhotoModeler, which is pretty expensive and probably superior. I have not downloaded and tried v6 yet, so when I do I can see whether the new stuff is worth your time and money. bigcahunak
I have not downloaded and tried v6 yet, so when I do I can see whether the new stuff is worth your time and money. time - maybe, money - its free... Anyway, I upgraded already (only takes a few minutes online) and couldn't find any news for professional users. Some graphic options, camera to match background as well as other stuff, but no new modeling tools. Seems to me google wanted to set a line straight with all SU customers and released a version that they wouldn't consider a full ver upgrade if they were charging $$ for it. I was also disappointed to find out it works slower with some of my older models (on the same machine as ver 5 is installed). Takes a while to display section cuts, which used to be instant ones I clicked the button. Also, orbiting is slower, and switching display modes. For now, I'm happy I uninstalled ver 5. AJLynn
Are you in the same OpenGL mode with the same display and view/rendering settings?
bigcahunak
Are you in the same OpenGL mode with the same display and view/rendering settings? As far as I remember I checked on that twice (it was the first thing that jumped to my mind too), but I'm not in a position top do so right now.
