mzagorski
Hey people, Well.. I decided to go backwards and try and remake a model in Max 5 that I had originally made in Autocad - but never textured or rendered nicely. For now, its been rendered with a Max 5 Skylight and Light Tracer. Im pretty new to exterior renders so open to all criticism. So.. fire away. Click here to view render. So far.. I spent about 8 hours on modelling (and strangling 3D Max!)...
jucaro
Hi Mike. your render is rather a little dark. did you use max5 exposure controls? if not then you should try it out. but if you do, try tweaking the setings. I rather use the daylight system for architectural exterior rather than the light tracer IMHO
mzagorski
The joys of working on a laptop!... I guess the image does look like a wet, overcast nasty day in Scotland. I never changed exposure at all. Will wait for some more criticism - then post an updated image. I plan to add entourage - but leaving that til the end. Just now, I want: 1) Nice lighting and shadows. 2) Nice realistic grass. 3) Nicely textured building. 4) Some nice poledancers
sergio rocha
hi there, the light distribution seems fine but you should give it a direct light(or daylight) to show the architecture.if you want bad weather use a tiff(hr) for skylight, worx fine.the glass should be more transparent (reflexions give realism). with some nice texturing and maybe a first plane (treet or something) i think it will be just fine
nisus
Hi mike, Invert the gradient of the sky: the horizon should be lighter! rgds nisus
