Old peoples home basically..!

Well not really old, but some sort of rest home.. Not totally sure.. but anyhow.. Need to add some more background on the left, and a bit of post prod' in p'shop.

Just bought some more 3D people from Axyz-design.. Needed some olds but to a reasonable quality.. I quite like these ones.

As always.. any comments or things I have missed will be greatly received:D

Viz 2006 / Vray 1.47.. (not 1.5..... yet!!)

its clean, nice work. i'd like to change the Sky and the gold plants at first.

reflection values on the roof is making it confusing try to lower the reflection amount. 1 more thing .. i am not sure about the size of those people as if they have to lower their heads to enter through those tiny doors....

Good work over all!!!

Vizwiz..

I think it would be cool if we started using each other in our scenes.. a bit like a "wheres willy" style..! Royalty free, and a good size collection to choose from..:D

Agree on the sky. Its a skydome, and I usually swap it out post.. Just use it to get some sky reflections.. although I suppose that would be easier in the environment slot reflections actually..

The bush does look really gold now you mention it.. bit too vibrant..! Will change that.

I think the people may be a bit deceptive.. they are about the right size, but I will check them out.. make sue there not 7 ft tall oap's..:D

Cheers

Nice lighting overall. Unfortunately the architects felt compelled to put a brick wall smack dab against the sidewalk in the middle right of the image. This leaves no room for landscaping to break up those sharp edges. This shouldn't keep you from adding some landscaping to break up the base of that far wall though. Also, I agree with Chutti's comment on the sky. I'd go with something a little more high res. You can find great images of skies (and great photo ref in general) scanning through flickr.com. Good luck!

Chers guys,

Posted the final one in finished work now.. looks a little over saturated, especially if you look at it on a cheap LCD, like my second screen..:D

Had to change a few bits due to client requests..

Neil, I would be interested to see your P'shopped people. I still cannot find anything that I am 100% happy with when it comes to people etc. I find that actually using geometry based solutions in the model itself, like Axyz models, at least gives me realistic lighting, and shadows.

the problem with P'shopping people in afterwards, is getting the lighting on there bodies looking accurate..

We always use p-shopped people.

Unfortunately this does take time to get the lighting, saturation etc etc etc working well, but definitaley worth the time and effort.

We first started with imagecel library yrs ago, but prefer to take shots ourselves, and have our own unique library of people.
