Steve O
I did a search and couldn't find anything to answer my question so apologies if this has been answered before. Does Vray work just as well with Viz as it does with Max. I am torn between saving nearly £700 and purchasing Viz but I want to be sure I'll still get all the benefits of vray. Thanks
Geoff
Yes, Vray works with Viz. With vray 1.5 and VIz 2007 I have no compatability issues (at the moment!) Geoff
Steve O
Many thanks. I assume the results gained from Viz/Vray are comparable to Max/Vray, the only difference being the differences between Viz and Max?
martin walker
yes...spot on vray is just the renderer bolted on...so exactly the same results as for max or viz
jophus14
I heard that there is only going to be 1 more version of VIZ to come out after the 2007 version then it'll be strictly Max. Just a heads up. I use VIZ at work with Vray and I don't have any problems.

jophus14
My co-worker went to the AutoDesk show in Las Vegas and heard it from some people there. I'm not sure it's 100% accurate, but that is what they told him.
Trevor Tizard
Thanks...............could save me the trouble of trying to justify the upgrade to my boss when he wants animations with particle effects etc. And as Autodesk update their products every year or so could be fairly soon! If they do discontinue Viz, hopefully they will have a generous crossgrade option for us.
Brian Smith
About a year ago i happened to have lunch with the head of Autodesk Marketing in Austrailia and he said that it was very likely that VIZ and ADT would be phased out within a couple of years....for several reasons, but it mainly comes down to the cost of developing multiple platforms to the same user base that could be satisfy with single platforms.
