sterealkey
Hi guys & gals, I have never really worked with big mirrors in scenes, but a friend of mine ran into a problem when working on the OR Thambo airport in Johannesburg. The RPC people close to the mirror dont reflect correctly, the reflection is in the same position as the original instead of being a mirrored reflection. Are there any advanced settings that can fix this?
Koper
hi choma the probl. is that it's back face is the same as the front face (the image is the same both sides) so it will be showing the same face in the mirror. Your friend will need to go take pics of people from the front and the back (in the same pose) in order to achieve the correct method. he'll also need to use an object that uses two different faces for the front and the back. otherwise, for people that are far away from the mirrors can only receive a colored map for the back face as the detail won't show. (but you still might want to creat this map in photoshop so that it resembles the back of the person being used.) cheers
sterealkey
But RPC people can be renderd from all angles horizontally, its quite strange that it doesnt calculate the reflection. Even if I switch on RPC reflection in the settings, it still doesnt work. It does something else but its completely wrong
neil poppleton
If you have animated rpc, do you notice they always face the camera...!!!! nobody ever picks up but once you know it always annoys you,
