field3d
I made an animation with vray but i have troubles. I render a frame and looks great, now i followed a tutorial of vray to make an animation but i see the tutorial works only to moving scenary and static objects. In my scene i have a white moving object and static scene and the shadows looks strange, noisy and only in the moving object. Then i followed the tutorial of vray of render animated models with qmc but now the render take 1 hour in render each frame. I had render times of about 2 mins per frame and with qmc 1 hour. I wanna know if someone can help me in configure qmc with best settings and fast rendering like irradiance map and good quality. Or use irradiance map in moving objects wiht no nosy problem. The strange is if i have an static objects and a camera move only the aniamation looks pretty only in moving objects have trouble. I appreciate so much
ershad
dear friend : my offer is : rendering your scene in several Layers 1: back ground (were you have still object) 2: foreground (were you have Dynamic object ) 3: shadow layer (this is very important layer and you must render this layer by maximum of sample ) you can separating layer with (vrayspherefade60) and then composite all kind regards

ksampath
Hai, check whether this helps you... i did it once when i faced the same problem... hide the moving object while calculating the irrandiance map.. and unhide the the moving object while rendering.... but the render time will be increased by 1 or 2 min for each frame.... sam
aligrafix
This technique mentioned, the Bruteforce method is too slow and LightCache calculation for everyframe take much time to render. Even for vray spherephade,BruteForce takes much time. LC for everyframe is also hard. After all, if it is the only way to render animations in Vray 1.5 SP1 & 2 then we have to do it. tayrona
I am a big fan of Animation prepass for this kind of scenes, but sometimes is better the layers/compo solution, depends on your scene, would be helpfull you to show a frame or explain a little more. aligrafix
i have a scene of a housing scheme i am working on, and there are also animated cars in it on the road. i also want to you fog in the animation. The animation is about 3 mins in length for PAL (25fps). Now, i wana render the whole scene all together but later in after effects, i want to you fog. I dont wana render the fog from 3dsmax. I will render the scene and take it into after effects and then apply fog filter in afeffects. therefore, Z-depth should be rendered in the animation. I use image sequence. Now here is the problem. If i render the animation as mentioned in this tutorial http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/tutorials_anim.htm then, i cannot get the Z-depth in the image. I wana render *.rla file. Now this is useless. The housing scheme also contains a shopping mall, and there are animated lifts in it (elevators). So, how can i apply the fog later in after effects, if i dont get the Z-depth in it?
thatch
I would calculate a LC for the entire path then use IRAD animation prepass for this, but turn on the 'Use camera Path' option for both solutions as you have moving objects. This has always worked for me, even with hundreds of animated objects.

thatch
Cant remember which version included the animation prepass mode, but you can download vray sp4 for Max 9, its a free upgrade. Is there a reason your stuck with sp2?
