Animation stalling

Hi all;

I have a meeting tomorrow with client re: an animation. I have used a sorenson codec

but not sure whether to use sorenson or sorenson 3? He will be viewing this work

on his PC using quicktime.

The animation is 150meg when compressed, it plays fine on my machine probably

because some of it is a cached file. However if i play on a new machine it tends

to stall alot, if i play it once or twice over it must cache as it plays smooth everytime

from then on. What can I do to make this play smooth first time round?

Cheers

Paul

Ok;

I just reduced the quality of compression to its lowest

setting and compressed the music and it came out

the other end an even larger file. Up now to 180meg??

Why?

What compression would you use Devin and at what setting

in order to achieve maximum quality but generally play back

smooth on most machines. As this animation will be sent

out to the masses eventually.

Thanks

I recently had to get a 7 min anim. to play directly from CD on various pc/laptops using windows mediaplayer at a resolution of 1200 x 900. I found that a .wmv file encoded to 8000 kbps would play back well on all but the oldest of machines, however there was a noticeable drop in quality if a different player was used (quicktime, real, etc). Hope this is of some help?
