vizwhiz
do we have a rapid prototype 3d Printing Forum? i was looking at The Contest That 3DRG is having for a 3d print and i was wondering if it would be great To have a Forum for This emerging Technology it might be something extremely useful To have more information about This, how it works and how it can potentially dovetail with what we are doing just an Idea Thanks Randy

vizfx
Hi It is an interesting domain with fantastic results, a bit expensive for some of us but deserves our attention. The best solutions until now comes from Zcorp - http://www.zcorp.com. Their image gallery and videos are impressive. Best regards. Mihai
3DRG
Check out our pictures of the 3DRG Models printed on Rapid Prototype machines. The models pictured are printed on a Stratasys FDM machine and an Objet photopolymer machine. The advantage of these models is that they are much more durable than a Z-Corp machine and can be affordable. Send a file for us to quote. The Z-Corp machine has a little more tolerance to different file types. So there is a place for each process. http://www.3drg.com check out the "Our Work" section. brian@3drg.com
GPI
You can of course purchase the system or you can go right to a service provider that will allow you to go from an STL file or Sold Works file to a print using OBJET or POLY JET or like the 3-D printing method. They also do DMLS - direct metal laser sintering. That is basically the 3-d printer but in METAL PARTS. SEARCH - GPI PROTOTYPE.
tdunigan
Hi. I own Metro Rapid Prototyping and am highly interested in architecture. We have made stereolithgraphy models and RTV casting for the U S Capitol Visitors' Center and the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. What is the preferred file type for architects? We want to have the most up to date translation apps available to keep up. Thanks. www.metrorp.com
