devicox
All, I've been trying to figure out a way to unroll a double curved surface (guassian). I need to unroll this surface to properly draw a grid (dimensionally). This entire process is similar to trying to unroll a globe to a map... If anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks, d
ipxstudios
If you have the shape modeled in 3D then you would use the UVW Uwrap modifier the flatten it out.
FOG Lite
I had to do this once and found Rhino unable to unroll a spherical surface. I did find a program called Lamina which did it beautifully but there was some tricky drawing that I had to do manually getting it back and forth between the two programs. I also recall seeing something about this over in the McNeel newsgroup. It might be something that the latest beta of V4 can do.
FOG Lite
http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/default.aspx/McNeel/AdvancedFlattening.html Just found this link on their wiki, it's a cool little tool that should do the job for you!
