archistrong
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. When I apply a material to an object (in this case a photo), set the View Mode to textured decal and size the image appropriatly on the object, the rendered image comes out 4 times larger than it should. In other words, I have to scale the projector to show 4 tiles of the photo on the object in order for the rendering to come out @ the right scale. I've been having this problem with a myriad of scenes. Is it a global scale problem I have? Hope this description makes sense. I searched the Maxwell Forum and couldn't find the solution there either. Thanks,
Devin Johnston
Are you using a plugin or Studio?
archistrong
Sorry, meant to add that. 3dsMax for modeling, Maxwell Studio for texturing.
Devin Johnston
Sorry I don't know about Studio I don't use it. Just curious why your not texturing in Max?
superbad
It seems the projectors in Studio are wonky if there is UV mapping already present on the imported objects. They often switch scale at random while editing materials, and sometimes they render differently than they display, as you describe. If you create the projectors completely within Studio (as I usually have to do because my native software has crap texture mapping), they are fine. If you're using Max anyway, you should probably avoid Studio.
archistrong
Appreciate the help with this. I just recently made the switch from Maya to Max and had become familiar with texturing in Studio since the Maya plugin for a long time left alot to be desired. Just now sorting out Max's texturing. I'll try keeping everything contained in Max on future projects. For the time being I'll try the new projector route and see if that helps.
