This is a little project we're doing for a client in Antigua. Going to have the foreground trees blowing in the wind to match the movement of the water (which needs a little work). Going to render in high def so i dont think the white spots on the pool hand rails will be a problem...otherwise i'll just remove the blurry effect altogether. Justin Hunt Posted January 18, 2007 Share Posted January 18, 2007 just looked at the animation and some things that stand out the paving around the pool needs texture, as it is confusing the scale of the scene The deck chairs are too white, thus lacking definition Brighten the tops of the palms Instead of the wave pattern try animated noise, it may be a bit more believable. I would assume it is like an overview shot, but with the cut edit, just doesnt flow. it might be also that you are panning the camera in the same motion on the second shot that throws it off. Brian Smith Posted January 18, 2007 Author Share Posted January 18, 2007 Justin...didn't notice the chairs as a problem but will try a few other colors. i can't really add any more texture to the pool deck...i wanted to use a tile but the client wouldn't allow it he wanted one solid texture...any more roughness and i think it would be overkill...yeah i dont know where i'm going with the water, just threw in a few wave modifiers but will definitely be changing. Mike...yeah i'm not really impressed with that shot, it was a pano image i was given by the client who took it on site and insisted seeing it. havent figured out how much of it i want to show but the transitions should help a bit...i just threw a few of the sequences together in video post Unfortunately, this project started with what were probably THE worst drawings I've ever had to work with...no CAD floor plans, just the image i've attached and an ate-up CAD elevation. So information was definitely lacking and therefore i had to be really restrictive in what i showed. This was about the best way i could show off 30 seconds of this pool area without creating a lot of extra content that was beyond the scope of the project. Camby1298 Posted January 18, 2007 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Adding some displacement on the water in the pools would help. As for the pool deck, seems like there is not much more you can do. If the design specs for a solid color as such, then its a bad design, not a bad render. Hopefully the client will see that. But using a map for it would help as Justin suggested. Ernest Burden III Posted January 19, 2007 Share Posted January 19, 2007 i'm not really impressed with that shot, it was a pano image i was given by the client who took it on site and insisted seeing it. Its OK, but I would suggest reversing the pano so you go from the 'open' view (lots of water and sky) towards the filled-in view so your next shot of the project looks more open by contrast. The pano is odd, beyond the lake it looks like there's a collection of painted egg cartons. But, you're stuck with it. You might improve the thing with a little sharpening to match your CG work. The other shots are too 'detached' for my tastes. You keep your distance from the client's property, and every time theres some folliage about to make a nice foreground, you cut to the next shot. I would like to be at the pool, see the public space from the balcony. Is the audio going to be that calypso music? I put something like that (Premiere-generated) on a reel once and later had to examine my own sanity. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
