Can vray free and vray 1.5 co-exist?

Hello,

I have a project done with VRAY free and I just bought 1.5 and installed it. It wrote over my vray free plugin...which is fine, but it was set up for certain renders. Has anybody ever tweaked settings to get these 2 to play nice together?

Thanks!

In fact, VRay Free and 1.5 are a bit too different to do that. For instance, VRay Free does not have Light Cache nor other cool features. The only (few) settings they share can easily be set and saved in 1.5.

Or you can, as a test, rename the VRay Free render file and try to have them both installed, but I don't think it will work.

I'm not enitrely sure but I know you could have the free version as well as the demo version work together, but it invovles cloning your 3dmax directory. In order for both of them to work, they would need to be set up in separate versions of max. In other words you would have to have two completely separate but identical (except one would have the free in it the other with 1.5) 3d Max directories set up. There used to be a thread out thereabout this, just not sure it was in this forum. Try looking at Choas forum.
