Macpod
Im contemplating replacing my current laptop. Being a student, i dont like the prospect of putting my hard earned cash into something that would only marginally improve my workflow. Current system: Acer TM 2410 Celeron M 1.5ghz with 2MB cache 756(or something) ram integrated intel graphics 4600rpm HDD replacement: Asus F3Jp C2D 1.6ghz 2G ram x1700 256mb dedicated plus 256 hyper memory 5600rpm HDD Will this system drastically improve programs like autocad 2007(3d) and 3ds max 8? At the moment, autocad is already abit 'laggy' and i havent even done any complex models yet. I've done a rough city block on sketchup before with my current system and that was starting to be unmanageable. I know i can just turn off the layers i dont need, but i don't think even that would help with with autocad2007 in 3d space. anyone have something with similar specs that wihes to share their wisdom? AJLynn
That would give you very respectable improvement in Acad, and so much improvement in Max and Sketchup even that you won't know how you ever worked without it.
Macpod
do you mean a respectable improvement in 2D acad or 3D acad? i would imagine the improvement in 3D acad would be on par with Max and sketchup. that may be a stupid question but i guess 3Dacad could have an archaic 'engine' compared to max and sketchup.....that might be another stupid question. haha
