vodka79
Not better, not worse... just quicker... and in that respect, much better! How much quicker??? I'm really sick of waiting more then 24hours to render a single piece of work on my miserable machine. I need speed!!!
CHE
Talking about speed, Does anyone knows if Vray 1.5 supports 3dsmax6? I might go ahead and get Vray instead. I'll need to render 10 to 12 interior renderings in less than 2 weeks.

max frei
hi, i found nearly the same image rendered in fry and maxwell. i thought it could be interesting to compare... fry beta 1.6 maxwell (beta:D) 1.
Devin Johnston
The Maxwell beta looks a little better to me, shadows are more defined. It would be more accurate to compare the current version of Maxwell with Fry though since it's widely accepted that the beta look is missing from the current version. max frei
no, no, ...sorry for misleading you! only a joke. it is the actual v1.1 - i wrote "beta" because i still feel like using a beta... for ME it is beta 1.
manta
Well since unbiased rendering should always come to the correct conclusion, and they both did, then the only variable is time, how long did it take to render each...
max frei
...another render that lets fry getting more interesting for me. don't know about the rendertime, but the caustics are very nice - and: where is the noise?!?

Mario Pende
Guys have you seen Indigorenderer? Its free, its unbiased and its slow;-)
Devin Johnston
Yes please post the speed comparisons between the two, without that it really doesn’t mean anything.
max frei
sorry Maxer, i don't have infos about the rendertimes - i would be interested too... i only found the pictures in the two forums (posted without rendertimes) and thought it could be interesting to see a comparison of image quality of nearly the same scene... ...i really getting impressed by fryrender - i think, if i hadn't been burnt by "the other beta" i would have purchased it already... and if mxw 1.2 suckx i think i will risk another beta disaster. superbad
I think a lot of people are waiting to see what new disappointments 1.2 brings.
Mario Pende
I think they said "...end of the February"...next update
Devin Johnston
No it's the end of the first quarter now, but they won't release any info on what new features will be included. I expect some major improvements over 1.1 personally; it's been a long time since 1.1 was released they've had plenty of time to fix all known bugs and add a lot of needed features. Mario Pende
Oh boy, are they going to get it if they dont make any major improvements. Lot of angry faces
