Dario Arnaez
Ok friends. Tired to looking for an effective tutorial of this big issue I come here to ask if any of you know a valid or at least tested tutorial, link or example that work in Vray 1.5. My need today is to do a laser ray light, but not the pointer but something like a plane of light that when it touch a body it draw a thin line. Also, I want to see some smoke in the volume light... I think you must know what I want to do. Anyone can help me? Thanks in advance!

creasia
I just completed this tutorial with Vray 1.5. http://www.evermotion.org/index.php?unfold_exclusive=64&unfold=exclusive There are a couple of things you need to be aware of though. The shadowing only works if you have either a two sided material, or if you have solid walls with enclosed faces. If you don't have this, then the light and fog will leak through the walls. Also be aware that if the glass is within a multi material that the light will not go through the glass unless it is embedded within the Vray Blend material. Good luck! ApeiNe
You can use the default Max volume light : http://library.thinkquest.org/04oct/02036/lessons1.htm It's pretty easy to use, just take care if you using Vray, you need to use shadow map on the lights generated volume. yepee9
you can acheive the volume effect in vray. but not with the vray lights. you must have to use 3dmax's default lights . vray lights dont support volume effect. and the best method is described on evermotion's site.
