eksg
Hi guys!Just for your comments.this is just a test render.
ApeiNe
Your displacement/fur make you render so long. You could try to make render test without it hehehe ^^
erickdt
ApeiNe is probably right. You could also turn down the subdivisions in the Vray displacement modifier. It defaults to 256 which IMO is way too high to be time effective/practical.
AJLynn
Nice. I don't think 32 minutes is that long for this, unless you've got an 8-core Xeon.

eksg
yeah,i think its because of the carpet. hehe..here was the final render, but am still planning to put more or change some accessories.but this time,it took 36 hours to render for 2000X1500.well...AJlynn is right, coz im just using a P4 3.6 ghz pc.thanks for all the comments guys. one more question guys....the truth is im planning to apply for a new job,but am not confident that this is enough.,do you think this type of sample is ok?im just doing this for my portfolio.i really dont trust my own works most of the time coz i had a terrible experience with my previous employers, like they were trying to put my morals down....and they succeeded.and now, even how hard i try,im still having doubts on my works. AJLynn
No, this is very good work. My only crit, really, would be the carpet - it doesn't look right, you need a different displace map at higher res.

erickdt
I think it's a nice render definately worthy as a portfolio image. You shouldn't be so self deprecating. While it's true that everything could always be improved (I mean look at some of the amazing work being produced by people on this forum and later critiqued by others) you shouldn't let it get you down, it's just a reality of life and an opportunity to get better! Some of the most successful people I've ever met were mostly successful due to their self-confidence (however founded or unfounded it might have been) and their willingness to "put it all on the line" because of it. Good luck!
eksg
erickdt,I never intended to feel that way,but it really hits me big time that moment, when my boss was literally humilating me for unknown reason, and he was saying i dont fit to work on that company.im doing a lot of personal projects for other companies, and most of the time they wanted to hire me,and all the time i turned it down for the reason that im afraid to let there expectations down.my friends were saying im doing good, but am really not convinced.i am trying to pull my morals up by practicing all my spare time(which is quitely rare) to improved myself.and looking on other people works in here really inspires me to do better.im looking for another job in another country, and am planning to take a formal study on 3d animation on that palce.i already have inquired, and they were just waiting for me to get there.being back to school really excites me and i know it give my confidence back. thanks for the gudluck!i really needed it. erickdt
Nobody deserves to ever be demeaned especially in a "professional enviroment". Unless this jerk is paying you some kind of good money I would say you should quit. I've seen your work on this forum and it speaks for itself. You shouldn't have to deal with your bosses insecurity (as most people who fell the need to demean others usually are insecure themselves). Poll
I think I'm a little late, but I think your 2000x1500 render looks GREAT! The carpet remark is true, but everything else looks realy great and sharp! Which reminds me.. how did you get it to be like that? I'm always trying to achieve it by pumping up my AA settings, but I just can't seem to get it right. Maybe you can post the settings, so I can give it a go on my scene? Great portfoliowork! little ps. the glass of the table looks a bit off.. maybe wrong IOR settings? or to low refraction? And maybe you could add a very suble flare to your lights. because the ones in the back don't seem to be on.
