kwerch
Hi all- I am importing a 3ds file of some cabinets in to max7 and each of the parts end up in max centered around the origin-Is there a place in max 7 that I can change this? The assembly exports, more or less, into other formats with the correct locations but missing too many parts to make it useful. At least with this max method, all the parts appear to be there- thanks- karl
AJLynn
So you have the model in another program, and you want to take just the casework into Max to update the model? I do this with Sketchup all the time, and the trick with the is to put a small cube at some point that becomes a reference, then include it in all exports. If your import comes in at the wrong place, just use vertex snap or Align to align the cubes.
only3d
2 ideas: 1- import the whole model again, but when asked about overrding existing objects select no no no.. 2- convert the whole deal to working w autocad and then work with LINKED DWG. much better and more interactive. fits better to working while updating
