Devin Johnston
It's been a while since I really did anything serious with Max standard lighting so I've forgotten some things. I have a stained glass window and right now I've got light coming through it but the light that shins on the wall is white but I want the light to project the colors of the stained glass. What are the best ways to accomplish this?
ApeiNe
Can be using raytrace shadows BTW, i also don't use standrad lights except IES for a long time ago

Ricardo Eloy
You can change the color of the shadow on the light's properties. It's a fake, but works.
Brian Smith
Can be using raytrace shadows You sure about that? I'm not aware of a way to get colored shadows but maybe i'm wrong. One way i know you can do it is take a nice rendering of the window and use that as a projector map within the light. Just like a projection you see at a movie theater. ApeiNe
it's working, but you have to set the transparency of the material of the desire shadow color. If you set the refraction to pure white, light pass throught glass >> white. So set it close to your "fog" or "diffuse" color here is a little exemple of poor quality Material is raytrace, black diffuse, blue and green refract, no fog. Matt Clementson
Another option would be a projector light to project the image of the stained glass.
