Cinema 4D 10 -how to select?-

Recommended Posts

Hey guy!

How can I select edges/faces in cinema 4d 10 ? It sounds stupid but yes I can select any edges, lines or faces. Say I make a square yeah, I press "C" to make it editable and I click on the edge/face and it selects whole square.

Im very new into cinema 4d modelling and I found so many nice tutorials but they require to move edges and faces around and I cant. Please guys help.

Thanks

They chaged the layout and I'm not sure exactly what they look like now but they used to be on the left - four buttons for object, poly, edge and point selecting.

So what you are doing is deciding that you want to select an edge, click the 'edge' mode button, then select away. If you switch to points mode, you select and edit points. If you go back to edge mode, whatever you selected last will still be selected.

If you want to get fancy look at the convert selection panel, it allows you to select a group of polygons, for example, and convert that selection to edges or points.

Also play with ring selection and loop selection, as well as grow and shrink. I use all of them all of the time.
