Macpod
Hi Guys Zooming seems to go crazy sometimes after ive excuted an overscaled command. For example, i was trying to create a 2D section block but specified an enormous scale by accident. After this, whenever i try to zoom in again on my model the screen would 'jump zoom' into something rediculous small and i would not be able to see anything. And zooming out doesnt seem to work anymore afterwards, the screen would just flicker. Could this be hardware problem? Im running a crappy celeron notebook with onboard graphics. The problem goes away if i Ctrl+Z and undo the 2d section command. PS Is there a command for zooming in onto the model when you lose site of it? mr. a
Try selecting a bunch of objects (or all) by name and then click on the 'zoom extents selected' button. You may need to click this a few times. You can also try "shift + z" or "shift + y". This will undo or redo the zoom/view in a particular viewport without messing with actual commands. I have had a similar problem but it seems to be emphasized more when objects are far away from the origin (0,0). Of cource crappy architectural files don't help. Lastly, you could try merging all the objects into a brand new file, and keep your fingers crossed that if the original scene for some reason is corrupt, that the bad stuff doesn't migrate into the new file. Good luck.
Macpod
thanks. i will give that a try, the ctrl-y thing is especially helpful. I also found that by selecting one of the predefined view, the object comes back immediately.
