erickdt
I just had a new computer built for myself with the following specs: ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard eVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562QX6700 G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL6D-4GBMQ Anyway, what I'm wondering is what settings if any in both Vray and VIZ itself that I should be changing from their defaults in order to leverage the power of these components to their fullest potential. Tim Nelson
Nice setup! I am pretty sure you don't have to do any special configurations within Vray and Max to get better performance. Make sure you are using Direct3D as your video driver in Max though.
Jason Matthews
Nope. No settings can really be changed. Just try to work smarter in your scenes and just structure everything better (xrefs, file linking, modeling vs displacment maps, etc.)
