carlangas
Hi all, I have read some related threads but im still confused. I have just switched my workstation from xp pro 32 to xp x64. things seem to work fine but it doesnt read all my ram. do I need to upgrade my bios?, remember I was initially running win xp32. I downloaded two items from the motherboard site, one is the driver zip and the other is some "6.86_nforce_winxp64_international_whql.exe" utility. should I upgrade the mobo driver or flash the bios or both or can my problem be fixed within the bios settings alone? here are the specs: dual opteron 270 running win xp x64 supermicro H8DCE motherboard 4GB ram (bios and windows read only 2.92, cpu-z reads 4gb) thanks for your help,
mtutaj
did you do an upgrade or a clean install would be my first question. I also found this link which I think might help. http://forums.amd.com/lofiversion/index.php/t52417.html Mike
carlangas
thanks for the input Mike, I did read those and other forums and eventually found a fix. I just had to enable the soft memory hole setting in the bios and it worked.
