guitarmunkee
Are there any way I can use them with vray? I tried and they look washed out and dark. I use a vray light most of the time, and raise up the self illumination but they still look dark. Any suggestions? Sorry if there is a thread like this already. gfa2
Funny...it's seems that I stop using RPC's when I started using Vray. They just didn't do it for me anymore when the lighting and GI started looking so good with Vray. I use 3D people and trees now. Metropoly and Onyx. First make sure they are included in your light source. They are excluded by default. Second make sure shadows and reelections are turned on for all RPCs. Then you can adjust the self illumination. Instead of turning the illumination up turn it down. apparently 25 is a good setting. Hope this works.
Razorback
Rpc works fine with Vray, I used to have some problems before using pre 1.5 version but with the latest release of vray workflow is quite smooth though.
sterealkey
Ive just accepted the fact that RPCs are not perfect, theyre only human you know Thanks for those tips Saturn, I never tweak my RPCs, i just use them straight as they are (render with Vray 1.5 RC3). As you can see in my picture, they look okay-ish, but I'm definately ampt to try those tweaks you mentioned. Peace
Jason Matthews
I have also noticed that they are quite picky. I mean somtimes the settings work and other times not. I had one scene that the rpc settings worked fine and another scene where I had no result at all regardless of the setting. For the most part I just use them in Photoshop unless they are vehicles. The other thing I noticed is that if you set up your rpc's by proxy objects then no settings effect the outcome. So my advise is to put them all in manually and hope for the best.
