Josh1587140445
This is the first render of this little admin building. It is done in VIZ 4. The only lights used right now is the daylighting system, with the Logarithmic Exposure control set at default. A couple of things I do not understand why they are happening the way they are is the red block on the bottom half of the building. Along with why the image is fuzzy. So if anyone has some suggestions on how to improve upon it, that would be great. I do plan on adding a skydome to it. Thank you Mason WRP

Cesar R
hi, I hope this helps. are you using meshing in your solution?? is "use radiosity" checked in the render dialog? Any way, ill share a on my techniques with you. I usually texture my glass and give everthing else a white material and beging to light my scene and make some radiosity tests. once I am happy I assign maretial and tweak my solution. It looks like you just threw in the daylight system and didnt put much though into the process... ok that was kind F-ek up of me to say.. sorry lol. also I would model the grass, it makes the image look more convinsing. I hope this helps. post some more WIPs ill be glad to help you. I like the model. before I forget, your shadows are 2 dark!!! shadows are never the dark at least not where I live. well if I helped you give me a star, j/k
Josh1587140445
Well actually I did just put the daylight system in. I have only been using VIZ 4 for a couple of months now on a limited basis. So I am still learning on how the daylighting system and radiosity works. I have done some tutorials. But I am trying to get into a class. Here are the settings I used for the daylighting system, exposure control and my radiosity settings. So if you can find a flaw in that. I would be very greatful. nisus
boost up the physical scale value to the amount of the sun strength rgds nisus
Josh1587140445
I tried that and everything was completely washed out and over exposed. I guess I will have to bring the brightness down quite a bit then. I will post updated renderings later today.
quizzy
remember that light is based upon meters! so what you need to do is set all your units to meters..
Josh1587140445
I have updated the images. I still need to do some color correction with them. But I think it is a big improvement. nisus, I will re-render with the physical scale bumped up later this week. Now I have to learn how to use the curves in Paint Shop pro. Arkitec
Is it me or is it a bit blurry. Its somewhat distracting from your design. Good luck, look forward to updates. Arkitec
jucaro
IMHO, its still flat! Fakiosity or standard scanline could have done better with a decent setup. Maybe you can try and post the BARE model in the UNCHALLENGE forum and have those interseted take a jab at it. I for one would like to show you some basics with all the settings included
Josh1587140445
jucaro, I would be glad to post it. But you are checking out an old post. The renderings have changed/improved since then. But if you think I should still post or even just e-mail it to you, I could do that. Because I am always willing to learn more of course. And plus they are nowhere close to perfect. Here is the link to my other post for the final renderings. Or well the first rendering is the most up to date. http://www.cgarchitect.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000144
Fermi Bertran
Hi Josh, It looks like you have not processed radiosity, thus you have only direct ligth in your scene. If you plan to use VIZ's radiosity engine, you'll have to scroll down Rendering menu up to Radiosity, set parameters to your preferences, check start! and wait a bit After solution has been processed render with old scanlinerenderer. If you were planning not to use radiosity, then perhaps you'd need adding some filling lights to illuminate dark areas that happe to appear pure black now.
