3D_IC
After reading the thread about architectural principles I began thinking about my development and how I’ve been influenced at an early age by events that have steered me in the direction of Architectural visualisation and 3D. I think my main influence as a child was LEGO (don't laugh). Reading the isometric diagrams to build the vehicles was an art in itself and required the development of a 3d imagination. The diagrams also resembled working drawings which gave me a very early understanding of elevations, plans, isometric and using these to create a 3d image in my mind. I still have my old lego now. One other event that changed my life forever was contracting mumps as a child which rendered me partially deaf. This heightened my sense of sight as I had to depend on this to lip read and pick up subtleties of conversation. Last but not least is the Atari 2600 which my brothers received as a Christmas present. This was my first introduction to computers and the rest, as they say, is history. How about you? guitarboy
haha, lego is awesome, i played with it builging multitudes of different things, mostly my own designs tho cause the box sets got boring after a while. and then of course computer games have always been a good bit of fun too. for me also i have been painting and drawing for as long as i can remember, and my fav types were of architecture, older style houses in lead pencil or charcoal, also loved watercolour. but ive always loved architecture and drawing and stuff so this seemed like a natural step. i love every minute of the very very tiny amount of 3d vis im exposed to atm. hoping to get into it properly soon. Macpod
Hmm. I saw a movie where the architect got all the chicks. That pretty much convinced me right on the spot. after i started architecture i realied i have a talent for bullshitting and making people like what you want them to like.
