ADT Intelligent tags take forever to load!!!

This one has been bugging me for some time.

 

We are running ADT 2006 at my office. (Windows XP, p4s, new computers). For some reason, every time you try to bring an intelligent tag into the drawing from the tool palette (section line, detail callout, whatever), it takes 4 minutes just to bring up the dialog box.

 

Could this be related to the size of the project (it even takes that long on small files with no x-refs)?

Try changing your FIELDEVAL value to 16 (which means update field on regeneration only), close that drawing, reopen and try to insert the block.

We had a similar problem in our office, but not while inserting but when opening a drawing with a lot of smart tags in it.

What FIELDEVAL does is it tell ADT when to fetch the information and update the fields of the smart tags, it is a per drawing variable so you have to do for every drawing that you open.
