Brian Smith
Thought this was so cool I had to share. Had my friends at Panorama (Juan and Adrian), create these images for a demonstration i did on the hdri portion of the online vray class videos. They took one of our projects (which they did) and I asked them to use different hdri's to create different looks to this scene. So the only difference in all these images is the hdri environment lighting. You can see more great work they do at http://panorama01.com/highres.html. If you need help with a project, they are a great company to work with.
neil poppleton
Brian, As another current thread discuss's where to use the HDRI, I ask the question was the HDRI file used in the environment slot or as in conjunction with vray domelight ? ApeiNe
I think the best way to use HDRI with Vray is to put it on : F10 >> Vray :: Environment >> GI Envrionment & Reflection/Refraction In these two slots

Hi to all, I appreciate that you liked our images. They were done using Hdri´s in the environment slot and also in the dome light.
Virgil Johnson
I have just begun my study of HDR. Being completely green... Is one best finding separate software? I see Darron Brooker (Essential CG Lighting Techniques) says a nice thing about HRD Shop (.com). I am also curious if Vray is the way to go or is mental ray up to the job? I wonder if Roger Cusson and Jamie Cardoso will be covering this in their new book (Realistic Arch. Viz. with 3DS Max and Mental Ray). FOG Lite
Wow! I particularly like the night shot. Where can we get these HDR maps? IF they are for sale anywhere I'd love to get a link so I can get my night library going.
Razorback
Hi to all, I appreciate that you liked our images. They were done using Hdri´s in the environment slot and also in the dome light. How is this being set-up? I read somewhere in the forum where vray guru Chris Nichol mentioned that using HDRI on both environment and dome light is an overkill and really waste of time. Can someone shed some lights on this please.
thomas+son
that last image would be perfect for night shots

The direct light and gi light is mainly the work of the dome.

Dome light provides all the lighting for the scene. Cool render btw.
