neko
i think you mean 'layperson', not lame person a layperson is essentially an average person of knowledge and experience a lame person is someone who is not cool (no courage or personality)....essentially an insult i hope something was lost in translation ! best of luck
AJLynn
Do you mean "lay-persons"? Lame means unable to walk (traditional definition) or uncool (vernacular). I would also ask, what type of program are you in (architectural design, history, theory, technology, etc., is it a professional program, and how many years of study is it)? And is a final year project a thesis? To be honest, if this were a thesis proposal from somebody doing a 4- or 5-year bachelor's program as most of the ones I'm familiar with are taught, in any architecture or engineering field, it would be pretty weak. Tommy L
My thesis was in heat loss in junctions of timber frame domestic scale construction. This subject was massive in itself. My advicce for a thesis is to keep it VERY specific. Once you put 'attitude' into the title you make it a bit vague. Add 'lay-person' and its endless. I understand your title, but something more appropriate would be (for example) analysing a regulatory body's (eg: government) attitude to timber construction through its regulation of the industry. In other words, how does the govt influence building trends/techniques through rules. Choose an area of building (public sector, domestic, high rise, stadia, whatever) because architecture is too big to analyse all types in one thesis. good luck, choosing a title is the hardest part.. whale
Concerning the specific nature of the project, i decided to major only on residential buildings.... so what i intend doing is to create questionires that i would use to obtain data from various residents.... AJLynn
But that doesn't sound like an architectural design thesis at all. Is the plan to use this research to help you design something? If it is, you'd probably be better off with a narrower focus.
bigroo
Not being rude (really) but if after 4 years you can't interpret a project, it's a bit sorry or your lecturers have been lacking in nurturing any intuitive thought processes from you.
