antonio_frias
Autocad 2008 is coming out soon! There are some very, very big innovations in the 2d workflow. In my opinion this is the best Autocad release since I started with autocad in 1999! http://heidihewett.blogs.com/my_weblog/2007/02/autocad_2008_th.html
STRAT
n my opinion this is the best Autocad release since I started with autocad in 1999! have they re-instated 3DS out? if so then i'll agree
AJLynn
Do they have an even larger icon for telling you whether your DWG file was created with an Autodesk product? (That 2007 warning window about how non-Autodesk files cause cancer is a bit over the top, IMHO.)

antonio_frias
Nope, not that I know of. But whats the use of 3ds out? Importing dwg files in Max and Viz works fine! have they re-instated 3DS out? if so then i'll agree
AJLynn
Not so easy for Cinema users. (Lot of good it would do them - "You need to add this file format support so we don't need to buy Max...")
ShaunDon
But whats the use of 3ds out? Importing dwg files in Max and Viz works fine! In my ten years of moving models from CAD to max, I've always found 3dsout to be more predictable and consistent way to do it. There's no great way, but CAD has alway written to 3DS better than max has interpretted DWGs in all my projects. Shaun
vizwhiz
are 2008 files compatible with 2007 files? is The FileLinking problem into max an autocad problem or a max problem? either way it is NOT working ** is This an upgrade or an update? randy been using autocad since '

Hazdaz
I am sorry, but 2007 has turned out to be a HORRIBLE version. Absolutely rubbish. I am terrified to find out what they plan on doing for 2008. eek!
STRAT
Nope, not that I know of. But whats the use of 3ds out? Importing dwg files in Max and Viz works fine! thats a fairly blinkered attitude. we dont all use viz/max. besides, 3ds is an essential for a massive proportion of users. it's much more stable and predictable than most other transport formats. looks like i'll be staying clear then.
