modeling of a decorated ceiling

hi all,

i want to modell a room then wants to make frames on walls and columns with crafted crown what should i do how i can make frames on wall and columns on wall as in attached file if my friends can explain with pictures that will b best for me it is not must that i wan t make same attached wall decoration i want to know how i can make like these frames and columns and how i can make ceiling as in attachement picture

i will b thankfull to cg members and guest which will like to help me

You could draw a basic spline (sliced view), or side profile of the 'cornice', and then draw a spline in top view the shape of your room, which is usually rectangular. And then use your sweep modifier, and select your shape(sliced view) as the object to be extruded along your spline.

 

Sometimes needs a little tweak afterwards, but this should give you the result you're looking for.

You can use the same method that I suggested in your ceiling thread.

 

Draw the profile as a spline, and draw a path in the shape of the frame, then apply sweep modifier with the profile as the base object. Might need one or 2 tweaks afterwards, so for that you will convert to editable poly and then edit it.

 

Are you familiar with polygon modelling. i.e. Editing objects without modifiers?
