only3d
hi all ive only recently learned how to use the 'panorama exporter' (i cant believe i didnt do it earlier!) its fairly easy and all goes well untill i export the result to 'quicktime' and the outcome is all smudged out... i know its not a resolution or AA problem cuz in max's viewer everything is fine, plus the jpeg in itself is also very much ok. i also tried varied resolution and sizes still same problem- ok in viewer.. smudged in quicktime.. oh and im using v-ray but idont think its connected to the problem either so any ideas? im including the JPEG and MOV files so u can check it out for yourself and upload it to your viewer also if u want.. only3d
ok now ive really tackled the subject and most drfinitly RTFMed it i made some experiments and found out that for some reason on my old pc it all works great and no "smearing" of the visuals. this led me to some guesses: #1- quicktime version or codec problem.. (new pc-v7, old pc- v5) so i installd quicktime 5 on my new pc but still same problem. #2- open GL \ directx issue.. (new pc- directx, old pc- GL) so i changed the driver to open GL on my new pc and it still doesnt work! the weirdest thing of all is that when i tried the 'cubicVR' plug by our dearest marc lorenz everything worked like a charm. excellent plug and as easy to use (alittle longer procedure though) but id still rather working with max's utility so i can post-process the image in PS which is not so possible with the 'cubicvr' work-flow (it gives 6 differnt images u later stitch instead of 1 panoramic image u can process at once) so now any ideas? it feels so close but i lack the knwledge in graphics to really pin-point the problem. i added the .mov file also so u can take a look and see what im talking about. oh and p.s.- im sorry for posting this here instead of the VR forum but it is very sleepy...
