gfa2
What is your rendering engine? What way are you using to get your sketchup model into your rendering program?
jophus14
You can export SU as a 3D model and import then into other software, then render it with whatever software you are using.

Yeah, I've done that before but it never seems to work out for me. Especially on larger more complicated scenes. Usually if I'm trying to do this it's with a model that someones has created and I don't have any control over how they've done the modeling. Sketchup to 3ds max just always seems to be an unpleasant experience for me. Any more specifics on the export settings or other things to watch out for would be great! P.R.S. Sivakumar .
Try the same model in Kerkythea 2007 rendering engine - which is an absolutely free and amazing software. Link is http://www.kerkythea.net You will find it in the downloads - also the plugin SU2KT to export from SketchUP. Greetings PRSS

It's all about the quality of the original Sketchup model - check for reversed faces, coplanar intersecting faces, things that should be welded that aren't, other geometry errors, correct UVW mapping, good use of grouping and layers, etc. With a good model it always works well for me.
