in your material settings, for your glass, scroll down your tabs and there should be a option tab, (im refer to the tabs that say maps, etc). within the option tab there should be a tick box with something like traced reflections. tick/untick that. im only very new to max/vray too, but thats where i found it, im using an older version tho, but if you cant find it, let me know and ill try to explain it better.

Guys I did some tests trying to analyse your problem.

I noticed when I switched on the 'skylight portal' checkbox in the vray light options, then it fixes the problem. :D

Dont know if it has any other side effects though

Would still like to get someone else's view on this. What does skylight portal mean, and why does this fix it?

thanks. but it also doesn't seem to be working..

when skylight portal option is on, the Color and Multiplier parameters are ignored, instead the light will take its intensity from the environment behind it.

This is a well known problem in Vray and you will find many posts about it at the Chaos forum. It might get fixed in RC4 (who knows).

I always find the one or two lights that are causing the problem and uncheck specularity (as someone stated above) but leave all the others as is.

Sometimes I put in an omni with diffuse checked off just to do the specularity.

Hope that helps.
