skogskalle
did this today... just a test, nothing important, but I got a little shadowproblem I couldnt fix... so please take a look. The tree-shadows suck pretty hard, but thats cause the trees are 2 planes, not aligned with the spotlight. BUT whats bugging me is the lack of shadow from the two people in the foreground. their planes ARE aligned with the spot in a way that should at least cast some kind of shadow (maybe not a perfect one, but something), but as you can see, they dont. Both planes are set to "cast shadows" and none of them are excluded from the spot - so whats wrong? http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=hushus_cgarch.jpg

Zortea
Why don´t you take the people out of the grass and put some RPC Shrubs, some stones to compose better the garden... You can use this couple and the dog near the man with the suitcase...
skogskalle
ok, I agree. They seem a bit misplaced, so yes I will move them. BUT... please, if you have any idea of whats causing the shadowprobs then let me know. Marcos: it would be easy to fix in photoshop, so its not a big problem. I just want to know whats wrong.... Victor Erthal
Did you consider the possibility of being a problem with the normals? Well, if the normals of the plane are facing the camera, and the light comes from behind, you should check 2 sided shadows, or use a 2-sided material. skogskalle
thank you! quizzy - thanks for your post. I did use overshoot, but my falloff was big enough to include the people anyway... It was really a rookie-mistake, I missed the 2-sided material check. thanks Victor for bringing it up. (feel kinda stupid now, I just couldnt figure out what the problem was... :angenone: ) thanks again everyone.
