trying to add some ambient stuff

looking ok, but i'd definately crop a good proportion of the sky off, it makes the composition look odd, it's a funny green colour, and it's a waste of space in the image.

the buildings look a bit too bright and glarey too. try get some more contrasty shadow work in there.

I disagree about the sky--I think it is a nice touch--brings in a range of colors that the picture would otherwise lack. The low contrast in the ski help to keep it from getting too much attention. I would lose the light rays, though.

The buildings could use more contrast, but not much--they are fairly far away from the viewer so you wouldn;t expect razor-sharp detail.

The foreground is what I have a problem with. It is just a band of stuff. It does not feel enough like you are looking through a planting area. Its the taller group on the left that is doing that. Also, the specimen trees in front of the building are spaced so far apart that it looks silly. I know that if you put in ALL of the street trees that are spec'ed on a site plan you cannot see the building--this is a long-standing rendering problem--but you have them way too thin. Also the few people look dropped on, not walking by. You have two equally sized branches popping into the frame from non-existent trees. If you could fill in the one on the right to seem more like a tree edge than a random branch it would kill the symetry and add weight to the 'lighter' side of the picture, and stop the eye from racing off the page.

thanx for the comments. the reason I posted this image is because it requires a gray-winterish atmosphere and that is not a usual request in my office. I used photoshop to edit the sky and wanted to know your opinion if it's good for drama and softness. Other details are less important to me now....reflections are created with images of the site and with reflecting shaders.

you won't find that kind of sun ray with bright sky (ring maybe). they only captured by a camera lens in noon as the night fall. if you try to create a drama i suggest to make a dark cloudy noon scene :p (i know it's hard and alot ps work but its worth for your goal).
