Ky Lane
Ok, 3rd thread started on this project now! Someone suggested that I try using multiple photometric fluro's to might my scene, so Ive given it a go. Previously I had one huge vray light over the entire floor (with the ceiling excluded). So, Ive created a lightbox with an area targeted photometric light, set it to diffuse/fluroescent, turned on vray shadows and set the area shadow to the side of the light box (approx 1.8mx0.75m). Theres going to be light around 80 of the lightboxes to accurately light the entire floorplan. Ive also placed a vraylight above the photometric area, and turned all its effects off, just to have the impression of a white light box coming from the framework of the lightbox. Now, at first, I tried rendering just one of these lightboxes out, just to see how it came out, and it came out quite...pointillised (forwant of a better word). very 'dotty'. Ive instanced all the lightboxes across the floorplan now, and its taking FOREVER to render... Any more tips to help me out here?
Justin Hunt
Have you tried using a light matl to generate the lighting? applied to flat planes should give a nice result JHV
Angela Giladi
Ok, 3rd thread started on this project now!... Any more tips to help me out here? Hello Ky Wasn't quite sure where to post this! Not really a tip, but a comment on the lighting in the first image you posted in your previous thread. The scallop on the wall (Leighton Sign) doesn't match the linear troffer in the ceiling. The scallop is typical of a luminaire with a round aperture. ...hope you don't mind the comment
