Nic H
Hi there this is a project im currently working on in Melbounre. I decided to start a wip thread to get some constructive critisicm along the way. I have finished modelling the building and am about to start on the quiet complex landscaping. Iam trying to go for some sunset/dusk or other feel for thsi image rather than the usual blue sky mid summer look. I need to populate teh interior of some floors and model the cafe / showroom on ground level as well. Anyway here is where im at at teh moment. HDRI envrio/reflect with a direct light for hard shadows. This is a quick set up that im not really happy with. The camera angles are pretty much fixed (except for the distortion! and vertical placement) Any thoughts so far? suggestions? Experiences lighting large glass buildings? I wnet and took site panormas today for reflection maps for windows, need to look at sublte bump for glazing as well.
Arnold Sher
absolutely love it! It almost feels as though it needs to be left alone... With the background fading into the distance... Something subtle and unintrusive as the building is so powerful... Just me two cents worth but keep us posted as i am really keen to see how this is going to turn out... Tommy L
Very good job. You are lucky to have such a beautiful building to work with. You said you had been on site, is this going to be a photo-montage? Go out and get some dusk shots from the site. Youre off to a fantastic start, dont mess it up with the context! Crazy Homeless Guy
it might be a little bright for a sunset view. i feel ike you are getting to much GI on the backside of the building.
Ernest Burden III
it might be a little bright for a sunset view. i feel ike you are getting to much GI on the backside of the building. Light is good. I just read it as more skylighting. But instead of sunset, call it sunrise. Now people wouldn't be fleeing the building, they would be arriving, coming for work, getting coffee, being filled with the excitement of a new day. "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go" That stone pillar is odd, but I assume you've modeled the design correctly.
Justin Hunt
Agree with Ernest. Going to keep an eye on this one By the way I think one of my friends is going to work for Orbit soon, James is his name. JHV
Nic H
Thanks for the encouragement guys, iv got bogged down in some other work but im going to try stciking with the sunrise feel, the planting is going to be my next challenge....2d or 3d, probably be a combo. I lit the inside of the building with some fairly low sopts to add more depth. Ill put somethign more up in a min. south facade update.
dinhtuan
Very nice! Love the overall environment, it's look so real. Do you put a light at each bright window at right part of the building?
Nic H
hmm some more images in progress for same project, external has changed a fair bit after architects saw the images..... Anyway some internals, this one is just a test but they didnt like it. and this one if the one I will probably develep more, they want a light sleek feel. (and yes they made me move the horizon up too far) i need some new furniture too this stuff (barcelona chair / noguchi tabel is everywhere now!)
