Render Artifacts: Blue Squares

They are from the "Fast interpolate" for glossies. Its a known bug and Adesk are aware of it.

I have found that even without the fast interporlate and really high sample settings there isnt much of a render hit. As such I dont use interpolate any more.

I like the render by the way, lots of potential

Tnx Justin,

Very fast answer... i needed that ,-)

Gonna change the material than... no more interpolation...

where have you read about the bug?

tnx for the comments on the render... as you can see, these are two images from a lighting study with an animated sun... still have to decide what shadow/sun direction ,-)

rgds,

For what it's worth, your model looks fairly detailed. I would choose a sun position that shows off the architecture (and the hard work you invested) a little better.......unless you are shooting for some sort of dramatic shot.

I don't know the intent of the rendering, so take my comments with a grain of salt.

The sun cycles from 0600-2200 > I than chose the best shadow contour...

(Basicly: the frames in the afternoon are still rendering)

No problem, just happened to be online at home when the post caught my eye.

On the Adesk Max9 forum. I would get alot of them, strangly always on the same buckets. They would go away if I moved the camera slightly but then would happen again a little while later.

Apparently they are working on a fix

In this scene all materials have some sort of gloss. The render times are acceptable (even on the quad core). None have fast interpolate for the very reason you are experiencing
