Mad Matt
Ok well it's probably mostly done. I think the clubhouse and clubhouse area are pretty much done. I'm planning to suprise the boss with a video tour of the golfcourse though so I wanna see if I can improve it some more. The first pic is of the clubhouse. The second one is of the whole course. Ignore the camera angle it's just something to show all of it. Anyway aside from taking the hill out of the water in the one pond, putting a better material on the sand traps and giving them some depth and adding details to the parking lot, as well as putting flags on the holes any suggestions? There are shadows they're just turned off at the moment.
schmoron13
for the golfcourse shot, I'd take a good look at games to see how you can make this shot work. Simgolf is a perfect example of a compromise between showing everything and reamining artistic...
Mad Matt
Actually I'm planning on a tour of the course at eye level. The shot from above is just sorta to show what's there so I can get suggestions of things that need to be added.
Ernest Burden III
The texture tiling on the course is pretty bad. It really provides no variation to the field, so why have it at all? The shading variations will still happen from topo changes. I have done a few golf course images, and what I prefer to do is cut the fairways, greens and water from the main poly skin, then give them a simple color and maybe a procedural (random) texture. With golf its not the surface but the differentiation between the types of surface that matter. For the water--model the bottom and skin it with polys with a watery material. Josh1587140445
How about showing us a rendering of the golf course from eye level.
