Aaron2004
Hello all, I have attached one of my first interior shots. I can't take credit for the models...I bought all of them. However, I'm trying to learn proper lighting. I'm almost there, however the lights INSIDE the building cast harsh lights on the ceiling if they come too close. What is the best way to combat this? Right now I'm expirementing with just using a normal Omni with 'ambient only' checked. Is this the best way around this or am I missing something? My second question is how to deal with the noise, especially above the windows. I have a Medium Irradecent map and a count of 1500 on my light cache. There must be a million ways to take care of these, but what way is the most effecient? Thanks, Aaron
kippu
one thing , dont use omnis with vray ....it spoils the purpose of vray .. use vray lights to do whatever... to get rid of noise , increase global subdivs multiplier ... increases rendertime too... Aaron2004
But how can you do ambient only with VRAY lights?
BrianKitts
You don't need ambient only.... that's what global illumination is for. The bounced light that you will receive from all the lights will fill the scene. out of curiousity..... do you have the GI turned on?
Aaron2004
Yeah..GI is turned on. Should I play with those settings before I start adding point lights?
