Vray distributed rendering and path issues

Hello,

I'm rendering using Vray, from my workstation and 20 hosts for ditributed rendering, I already know that vray only allow 10 hosts maximum, but that is not my concern by now.

In this case, my question is for still images in very high definition, thats why i'm not using backburner.

I'd like to know if exist a written protocol or something already created, about the organisation or every aspect I have to look after every single host of my render farm, before put it to work.

More over, i'm rendering scenes that people send me from other countries and the most of times the first render shows white squares, obiously the bukets from hosts that could not find the path given for the creator of that scene.

So I have to look for all the maps, ies files, vrmesh files, etc , and everything, and paste it in a path known by all the hosts.

By now that works fine, but i'd like if someone tell me if exists this "protocol" or whatever, so i can organice myself and organice my partners in matter of paths and all that stuff.

thanks a lot in advance

Al.

Assuming you have all the maps, etc. - I would use the bitmap/photometric paths under the utilities panel. Select everything and set it to your unc path on the server or use the same file structure you have for your main computer.

then if you are using same file structure instead of a central location on the server, write a batch routine to copy those bitmaps, etc to each location.
