mzagorski
A little off topic.. but Im looking for some advice on paper for printing. I recently had a presentation printed but it turned out a bit of a mess. It has a large black area with white text.. and the black ink ended up bleeding into the white text making it close to unreadable. Anyone got advice on A3 paper that will minimise this bleeding? Thanks
xgarcia
Mike - I try to avoid printing white text or lines (white) onto black background b/c it usually bleeds. I know... it looks really cool but 90% it will bleed. I use Rexam Magic photo-paper (I bought it from Charrette.com) and plot from an old HP500 designjet our student AIAS bought. It's a slow plotter but comes out very vibrant for photo paper. Don't know if you can get that paper in the UK - check international sales. Regardless, unless you're using laser printing try to avoid black backgrounds with thin white text or lines. Best of luck. BTW - I bought the 24" x 150' roll. Here is a direct link . nisus
Speak to your printer (the man, not the machine) about the maximum black levels you should use before printing as you should never use 100% black to print. rgds nisus
@lkion O
Hello Mike, well fist of all what type of paper did you use?Glossy, mat who is the maker? i usually go for HP Bright white which is a fairly mat paper. Make sure you don't print at best quality though cause it will make it look like a wet shirt!!! If you do then use only photoquality paper. One last thing when you buy paper make sure it is reccomended for your printer. Set your DPI at 150 max and not at 300- if you dont use a photo paper - I know you can find those really cheap ones , but this is up to you. Hope that helps
