markf
In the image attached you can see that the ceiling and light are being reflected much to bright in the mirror. I tried using a Vray override material. In the overide-reflection material even if I change the diffuse color to red. Rendering remains unchanged. Any advice on how to correct this? Thanks in advance for any help.

markf
Timothy, Thanks for you reply. I tried unchecking affect specular in the modifier panel for the Vray lights. It does fix the reflection problem perfectly. It unfortunatley removes all of the specular hilights from everything else. I have some chrome faucets and a tub that are hidden in the render I posted above. These and the edge of the counter top all get very dull without thier hilights. I tried adding an omni with only affect specular checked. It seems to have no affect at all even with multiplier cranked way up. Perhaps because I'm using Vray materials? I hope I can get this sorted out and move forward.
Tyorl
Try to make your vraylight sphere smaller size just as it in the lamp, u need then to adjust your intensity, and exlude your lamp for shadow casting. And do not uncheck any of Affect diff/speckular.
sterealkey
In your vray light options there is a "skylight portal" checkbox, switch that on. It will sort out your problem one time shoe shine. While we're on the subject, can anyone tell us what this "skylight portal" means?
